Alka Yagnik is a well-known playback singer from India who is renowned for her melodic and adaptable voice. On March 20, 1966, she was born in Kolkata, India. Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, and other Indian languages are just a few that Alka Yagnik has sung in. She has a distinguished singing career and has won many accolades for it in the Bollywood film business.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Alka Yagnik attained global acclaim, and several prominent Bollywood actresses of the time came to associate her voice with them. In order to produce songs that have reached the top of the charts, she worked with renowned music producers and composers. Her hits include "Tum Aaye Toh Aaya Mujhe Yaad Gali Mein Aaj Chand Nikla" from the film "Zakhm" (1998), "Tum Hi Ho" from the movie "Aashiqui 2" (2013), "Agar Tum Saath Ho" from the movie "Tamasha" (2015), and many others.

For her outstanding singing throughout her career, Alka Yagnik has earned various honours, including several Filmfare Awards and National Film Awards for Best Female Playback Singer. For the past few years, the playback vocalist has constantly ranked at the top of the YouTube streaming charts. In 2020, she had 16.6 billion streams, and in 2021, she had 17. 

The ethereal, dulcet voice of Alka Yagnik is one that many of us have grown up listening to. Throughout the years, her sweet voice has become one of Bollywood's mainstays and has provided the voice for several timeless chart-toppers.

Another professional milestone has been attained by the playback icon. She has surpassed pop culture heavyweights like Drake, Beyonce, BTS, and Taylor Swift to become the most streamed artist on YouTube. According to a report from the Guinness Book of World Records, Yagnik's songs received an average of 42 million streams per day in 2022, totalling 15.3 billion streams. She has, however, topped streaming charts numerous times before. In 2021, she had 17 billion streams, up from 16.6 billion in 2020.

However, this is far from the first time she has topped streaming charts. She had 17 billion streams in 2021 and 16.6 billion in 2020.

With 14.7 billion streams, Bad Bunny, a rapper and singer from Puerto Rico, ranks second to her. Udit Narayan (10.8 billion streams), Arijit Singh (10.7 billion streams), and Kumar Sanu (9.09 billion streams) are just a few of the legendary Indian playback singers that have made the list of "most streamed artists." Surprisingly low on the list are several well-known international performers. With 7.95 billion and 7.03 billion streams, respectively, the K-pop sensations BTS and Blackpink also entered the top 10 list. The American pop diva Taylor Swift was ranked 26th with 4.33 billion streams, while The Weekend (5.7 billion streams) was ranked 13 and Drake (2.9 billion streams) was ranked 50.

Yagnik, one of India's most productive vocalists, has over 20,000 songs in 20,000 different languages recorded. She has additionally accumulated a number of honours, including two National Film Awards and seven Filmfare Awards for Best Female Playback Singer. In the BBC's ranking of the greatest Bollywood soundtracks of all time, twenty of her songs are included. Agar Tum Chaho (from Prem Ratan Dhan Payo), Chura Ke Dil Mera (from Main Khiladi Tu Anari), Gazab Ka Hai Din (from Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak), and Suraj Huya Maddham (from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham) are a few of her most well-known Bollywood songs.
