7 Common Mistakes an Adult Piano Player Do?
Mistake Number 1: Waiting for a Perfect day or time?
The best time to start learning Piano is right now! Don’t wait for the perfect day or time, because there isn’t one. If you begin today, you’ll see significant progress within 30 to 90 days.
Mistake Number 2 : Trying to learn too many lessons in one go
In today’s digital age, information is everywhere. When learning the Piano, you’ll encounter a vast array of Information. Try small and simple rhymes or pieces that are beginner-friendly so that you will motivated to play and you can play it right.
Mistake Number 3: Neglecting Finger Strength and Postures
Fingers do have memories. With the right approach and current finger techniques, you can strengthen your weaker fingers, especially the third and fourth fingers. Using the correct finger techniques and strengthening them from the beginning is important. Proper hand posture and sitting up straight are essential.
Mistake Number 4 : Focusing only on Right Hand
This is a crucial mistake I see in adults. Just because you are not comfortable playing with your left hand, you start to build only your right hand, which is the biggest mistake in learning Piano. The piano is a full-fledged instrument; playing it in both hands, even at the beginner level, is very important.
Mistake Number 5: Getting Demotivated by Mistakes
Mistakes are part of learning; as an adult student, you shouldn’t feel bad about making mistakes. It’s part of the learning experience, and we should make mistakes and continue to correct and improve them.
Mistake Number 6: Learning Complex or too high-level pieces
As learners, we want to play our favorite songs or pieces, which might be too high compared to our current level, so playing these complex songs will demotivate you as you feel it is too hard to learn and I cannot play it and over time, we tend to leave practicing the songs or Piano
Mistake Number 7: Skipping Regular Practice
Practice is the key; the moment you miss practice, you will see the downfall in your learning. Having a connection with your Piano is a must at least for 15 minutes to 20 minutes every single day will help you to be connected and progress

Yes definitely, YouTube is go-to source when you want to learn but you learning from random lessons from YouTube videos will hamper your progress, there are no structured methods and feedback mechanisms to learn your piano lesson
